On a pleasant peninsula there lived a Couch. Not a disgusting, stained,
loathsome couch, filled with pennies, keys and lost remote controls. It was a docile Couch, and that means comfort.
It
had lush green cushions and soft arm-rests. Perfect for afternoon loafing and spooning with skinny blonde girls. The Couch
sat peacefully at The Grove, for semesters on end, failing classes, and disobeying city ordinances.
Until one morning,
the Ultra-Star landed on The Couch. Wanting to no longer be a symbol of laziness or leisure, the frisbee burned The Couch
with a desire to huck, bid, and sky. The frisbee drew The Couch away from The Grove. Taking it on an journey through rain,
mud, grass, and wind. This is how a couch had an adventure, found himself errant, blazing, and causing uproar.
Michigan
State Ultimate was started in the late 70s by "Fly", who took the team to a 3rd place finish at Worlds. The team smouldered
for some years through the 80s, but was rekindled by Luscious N' Delicious in 2000. Fueled by passion, the Burning Couch continues
to inspire Spartans to "Get up, Stand up. Never give up the fight."
